Cupcakes by Katie was born in 2011 with just a cookbook and a baby carrier.
It was my first mother’s day. I was a stay at home mom dabbling in creative cooking outlets and had my family over for a small mother’s day celebration. My mother-in-law handed me a gift that she was inspired to get by my most recent interest in making cupcakes using recipes found on Pinterest. It was a Betty Crocker cupcake cookbook that I immediately dove into and bookmarked like crazy. Thus was the start of my journey to making cupcakes fresh and full of love.
Fast forward to 2019. As a single mom of two, I finally made the choice to be my own boss and put everything I have into providing the best quality cupcakes I’m capable of and growing my business to be able to service the Central Coast.
I’m licensed by the SLO County Environmental Health Department under the Cottage Food Act.

A light strawberry cupcake made with fresh strawberry puree reduction with a strawberry cream cheese frosting garnished with fresh strawberry slices and a mint leaf.
Shirley Temple
A ginger ale cupcake injected with cherry grenadine with a cherry grenadine buttercream garnished with candy pearls and a maraschino cherry.
Moscow Mule
Ginger and vodka cake with a ginger lime buttercream topped with a slice of lime.
